| GENERAL INFORMATION Purpose: Trinity Lutheran School exists to assist - - the church in fulfilling the Great Commission (Matt. 28) and - parents in fulfilling their God-given responsibilities (Prov. 22). Mission: TLS strives to help children serve God and their fellow man, both now and in the future, by providing opportunities for them to grow spiritually, academically, emotionally, physically, and socially, in a loving, caring, Christ-Centered environment. History: TLS was established in 1951 and moved to present location in 1985. Accreditation: TLS is fully accredited by the Lutheran School Accreditation Commission and the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission, which is recognized by the Texas Education Agency. Age and grades: TLS offers a Christ centered, teacher directed, child focused, well rounded curriculum to children two years old through the ninth grade. Enrollment: 133 students are currently enrolled in the Early Childhood Program while 78 students are enrolled in the school program. There is an overall average teacher to student ratio of 1:12. Student body: Approximately 30% of the students at Trinity are members of Trinity Lutheran Church and 60 % are members of other Christian churches in the community. Academic progress: Over 75% of the students at TLS are working above grade level. Overall, the average student at TLS is working 6 - 8 months above grade level. |
